There are residents who are emotionally volatile, and I never saw a staff member react with anything but sympathy and a desire to bring comfort. The teamwork impresses and reassures me. I feel safe here. I am learning to care for my ostomy and myself. I will go home confident in my newfound competence. In a few months I will probably have the opportunity to surgically reverse my ostomy. Knowing Lakeport Post Acute is available to assist me through what I have been told can be aa difficult recovery will play a large role in my decision on whether or not to undergo the reversal surgery. When I go home, I will feel a little sad at leaving people I have come to regard as friends, and I will always be grateful for their skilled and loving care.

As a healthcare provider for over 30 yrs, I was skeptical about sending my mom to a nursing facility for rehabilitation as most don’t have the greatest reputation.
